Yes. Steam and Epic Games Store players share the same rooms. One of you presses Invite Friends and reads out the room code; the other presses Join Code and types it in. Play Online also mixes players from both stores. Both of you need the latest version of the game.

An online match needs at least 3 players and takes up to 10. While you wait for the room to fill, or any time you like, Solo & Tutorial lets you play against bots.

• Check your internet connection.
• Start the game from Steam or the Epic Games launcher (not from a shortcut to the game folder), so it can sign you in.
• Make sure the game is up to date: players only meet players on the same version.
• If a room code doesn't work, ask your friend to read it again: codes never use O, 0, I, 1 or L.

Progress, outfits and settings are saved on your computer, in %APPDATA%\Hauntbound on Windows. They aren't shared between computers yet.

Play with keyboard and mouse or a controller. Press F11 or Alt+Enter to switch fullscreen on or off.

Open Settings from the title screen and pick English or Español.

Press the speaker button next to their name in the waiting room to mute them. The chat filter ("Hide rude words", in Settings) is on by default. You can always leave and join another room.

Open the Wardrobe from the title screen. New players start with their Steam or Epic name.
